Training of Certified Campaign Manager (CCM) on Fundraising has been successfully conducted in Nepal on the 15th July 2019.
The training was conducted by the International Council of Non-Profit Management and hosted by Nepal Center for Philanthropy and Development, Kathmandu. The objective of the training was to capacitate participants as a trainer, successful fundraiser and enhance their credential at the international level.
12 Senior Executives working at program development and fundraising departments of reputed NGOs and INGOs have taken part in the training.
CCM is an internationally recognized certification especially designed for Asia. Prof. Bekay Ahn a trainer of the training highlighted the uniqueness of the CCM with Mangopsot. According to him, CCM is a comprehensive curriculum and embodies adequate knowledge, tools, and skills in enabling participants as a trainer as well as an effective fundraising practitioner targeting Asia.
According to Bekay, the CCM training was customized for capital campaign considering its growing trend in Nepal. The workshops and cases during the training were based on the social enterprise model Kathmandu Institute of Child Health (KIOCH) led by Prof. Dr. Bhagwan Koirala in the center which is launching a capital campaign in immediate future to offer comprehensive health care and treatment for children in Nepal.
The topics covered during the training were philanthropy, visioning and fundraising strategy plan development, current and prospective donor research, case Statement development, securing fund, building and sustaining the relationship with donors, capital fundraising and ethics and accountability. The tools and methodologies of the training included lectures, interactions, workshops, presentations, group works, case sharing, assignments, examination, and certification.
One of the participants of the CCM training Ms. Reejuta Dixit Sharma said that; "the training has not only enabled me as a fundraising practitioner but also as a trainer. Similarly, Mr. Urgen Lama, another participant said: "The major take away from this training for me is the importance of consideration of overall environmental aspects as well as ethics and accountability during fundraising".
The certificates to the participants were provided during a formal ceremony on 22nd July 2019. Prof.Dr. Bhagwan Koirala and Philanthropist, Mr. Lee Choung Bum from South Korea had congratulated participants and provided them certificates. They also motivated participants to take a lead in philanthropic works.
Duo, Mr.Koirala and Mr. Lee have been successful to bring immense positive change in heart treatment and surgery and enhancing youth employment through vocation training in Nepal and Vietnam respectively.
